Hi there! I’m PlatePeak (well, that’s not my real name, but it’s the one I proudly go by online). I’m a passionate home cook, serious foodie, and a collector of recipes from all corners of the world. The name PlatePeak comes from my love for reaching new heights in flavor, plating, and the whole culinary experience—always aiming for the peak!
How It All Started
My love for cooking started when I was just a kid. I remember helping my family in the kitchen, where I’d get inspired watching meals come together. But the moment that really changed everything was when I tasted a perfectly homemade chocolate chip cookie. The taste was so incredible that I knew I had to learn how to make it myself. From that day on, I started experimenting with baking and cooking, and I never looked back.
My parents used to let me have free rein in the kitchen on the weekends. I wasn’t tall enough to reach all the shelves, but I made up for it with determination. I started with cookies and cakes but soon moved on to savory dishes like pastas and stir-fries. I had to slow down a bit in high school when schoolwork got crazy, but after finishing my studies, my love for cooking came back full force. Now, I’m always chasing the next recipe that’ll hit the peak of flavor!

I write each one with easy step-by-step instructions, and I always include helpful photos where I think they’ll make a difference. My goal is to be 100% transparent and honest, sharing the highs and the lows of cooking.

My Cooking Experience
I’ll be honest: I don’t have any fancy culinary school background. I’ve worked in a few kitchens during college, but most of what I know comes from years of experimenting and loving the process of cooking.
I’ve been obsessed with cooking since I was young, and it’s only gotten stronger over the years. I think about food constantly (except when I’m caught up in a new TV series with my partner or playing board games with friends). My collection of cookbooks keeps growing, and I’m always on the hunt for new ideas and ways to elevate my cooking. Even after thousands of hours in the kitchen, I still learn something new every day. My hope is that PlatePeak inspires you to keep learning and loving the process too.
My Favorite Cuisines
I’ve always been an adventurous eater, but my favorite cuisines are Italian, Thai, and Japanese. You’ll see a lot of pasta dishes, flavorful curries, and sushi-inspired recipes here. But really, I love any dish that makes me feel like I’ve reached the peak of flavor, so you’ll find a variety of different foods to try.
